 "In May of the current year, OOO LUKOIL-Kaliningradmorneft purchased SMART LOCK reinforcing sleeves produced by OOO PSO Neftegazdiagnostika. Ten of the above sleeves were installed at the defective sections detected in the course of in-line inspection of the onshore part of the very important marine oil pipeline. Installation of the couplings was performed in the high water table conditions. Owing to a successful design of the SMART LOCK couplings, the repair works were performed in due time, without employing heavy earth moving equipment, high power sludge pumps and, most important, without hot works. As a result, we saved valuable time as well as considerable inventory, material and financial resources.
After completion of the repair works, the specialists of OOO LUKOIL-Kaliningradmorneft have come up with a proposal: a computer program for calculation of defect acceptability with regard to repair using SMART LOCK sleeves shall be developed and included in the complete delivery set in order to optimize the procedure for choosing a pipeline repair method.
